TUI plans more vacations ahead of next UK government’s Covid overseas travel review
The UK’s largest tour operator has cut more holidays amid continuing uncertainty ahead of the UK government’s review of travel restrictions.
TUI has canceled trips to countries listed in the amber and red categories of the traffic light system until the middle of next month as holidays at most UK airports are affected.
The company recently cut back on travel to Turkey and several other destinations due to restrictions on travel to resorts.
He said he “unfortunately had to cancel all holidays to the following red and orange destinations” until June 13 inclusive: Aruba, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece – Crete (Chania), Halkidiki, Kefalonia, Preveza, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos , Thassos, Zante – Italy, Jamaica Spain – Mainland Spain, Formentera, Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and La Palma.
All TUI Lakes and Mountains trips are canceled until June 13 inclusive, while trips to Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Mexico, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey were deleted until June 27.
The firm said, “All customers affected by these cancellations will be contacted directly and may request a full cash refund, or move to a later date or other holiday and receive a booking incentive.
“If we have to cancel an upcoming vacation due to updated government guidelines, we will contact you directly and endeavor to give customers at least seven days’ notice.

Despite the cancellations, TUI has added five new weekly services to the non-quarantined destination on the Algarve Green List.
The new services are: Birmingham to Faro: weekly (Sunday) May 30 to October 31; Manchester to Faro: weekly (Thursday) from June 3 to – October 28; Newcastle to Faro: weekly (Thursday) from May 27 to October 28; Newcastle to Faro: weekly (Sunday) May 30 to October 30; Gatwick to Faro: weekly (Thursday) June 3 – June 17.
These flights are in addition to the 14 weekly flights already on sale from UK airports throughout the summer. TUI operates flights to Faro from East Midlands, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Midlands, Gatwick, Newcastle, Manchester and Stansted.
