Latest refund policies from Jet2, TUI, Ryanair, easyJet and BA after recent travel announcement
UK holidaymakers face continued uncertainty in their quest for sunny beaches and crystal-clear waters this summer.
As destinations are moved around travel lists at traffic lights and the government system is expected to remain in place for some time, some flights are likely to be canceled.
Airlines have their own individual cancellation policies which the company says entitles customers to a cash refund, voucher, or change to another flight.

The news comes as hundreds of vacationers have seen domestic cruises canceled as the delay in lifting capacity constraints means ships are overbooked.
P&O Cruises, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean International are among the companies that have accepted bookings in excess of the current limit of 1,000 people.
With that in mind, here is the latest summary of the major airline’s refund policies, as reported by HertsLive, so you can have a stress-free trip.

EasyJet has been praised during the pandemic for the way they have operated.
Right now, EasyJet has a promise of protection that they keep to all customers, which protects them in a number of circumstances.
They offer customers a money back guarantee that makes it easy for them to request a cash refund or voucher if they cancel their flight.
However, if easyJet doesn’t cancel your flight and your circumstances have changed, then they give customers the freedom to change.
Their website reads: “Transfer your flight free of charge this summer, anytime up to 2 hours before your departure to all flights currently on sale and to any destination in our network.
“Applies to changes made until September 30, 2021 inclusive. Only if the new rate is higher will you be required to pay the difference.”
You also get your refund, along with your credit deposit, free of charge 28 days prior to travel.
Jet2 has a number of different rules depending on the circumstances of the refund.
If Jet2 cancels a customer’s flight and cannot offer a suitable alternative, they will give you a full refund.
Their website says, “If flights are canceled by us and we are unable to offer a suitable alternative Jet2.com flight, we will refund you to the payment card used to make the original booking.
“You can cancel your flight on Manage My Booking, but all Jet2.com scheduled flights are non-refundable.
“Although reservations are not refundable or transferable, we can help you with date changes. For date changes, we will charge the administration fee plus the difference (if any) in price between your rate. origin and price of today’s tariff (including any increase in taxes, fees or other charges).
“If the overall rate has decreased since you made the initial reservation, no refund will be made. “

BA, like easyJet, has a designated policy allowing customers to book with confidence. The policy gives customers flexibility so that they can book stress-free.
It reads: “Our confident booking policy gives you flexibility. So, if you no longer wish to fly, you can request a voucher to be used at a later date.
“If your flight has been canceled, you may be able to request a refund online.”
Like Jet2, if your Ryanair flight departs and is not delayed for more than 5 hours, a refund is not possible.
The website states: “Once a Ryanair flight is operational and has no delay of more than 5 hours, then it is not possible to obtain a refund. All Ryanair flights are changeable but cannot be canceled.
“Flight dates / times / routes can be changed up to 2.5 hours before the flight departure time (name changes can be changed up to 2 hours before the flight) via ‘My Reservations’, unless you have already registered, in which case please contact one of our agents using our live chat.
“You don’t need to let us know if you can’t travel and if you can’t use your outbound flight, you can still use your return flight.”

TUI offers its customers a refund credit which allows them to use their money on another trip in the future.
If the credit is not used on time, TUI will automatically refund the money as a cash refund.
The website says: “The value of your refund credit is the amount you paid for your original vacation minus any change or cancellation fees you paid and does not include extras like insurance. trip.
“The refund credit is valid as soon as you receive it and is issued to you if your vacation will no longer be able to go as planned due to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advice against travel, or due to other restrictions. .
“Your refund credit will expire on September 30, 2021, after which, if you have not used it, you will automatically receive a cash refund from us.
“If you do not wish to book further vacations with us, you can ask us to convert your unused credit note into a cash refund at any time before it expires.
“We will do this by refunding the original payment method where possible. Please use our refund request form to make your request. You will need to have your refund credit code handy. “
