A Cornish homeless charity has been shortlisted for national awards.
Harbor Housing is shortlisted for three gongs at the 2021 Charity Times Awards.
The Charity Times Awards celebrate best practice in the UK non-profit sector and this will mark the 22nd year of this prestigious event.
The awards aim to promote and raise the profile of the charitable sector, as well as to support professional development and raise the standards of management of charities.
There are 28 categories at this year’s events, with a particular focus on the coronavirus pandemic and how charities have responded to new and growing needs.
The charity, based in St Austell, Cornwall, has been shortlisted for Board of Directors of the Year, PR Team of the Year and Best Use of Technology.
Harbor will face organizations such as Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, the Elton John Aids Foundation and Guide Dogs at the London Awards Gala in September.
Harbor Housing Director of Operations Malcolm Putko said: “It is a tremendous honor to have been shortlisted for these national awards. I am incredibly proud of the work the entire Harbor Housing team has accomplished over the past year and this recognition is a testament to their efforts.
“We pride ourselves on constantly innovating and striving to provide the best possible service to our beneficiaries and the communities we serve.
“It takes an investment from the whole organization to make this happen, encompassing the board of directors, the communications team, the IT department and more.
“As a Cornish charity it is incredibly humbling to be recognized alongside so many organizations doing such brilliant work nationally, and we hope we can bring home a victory for Cornwall in September.”
