Eze eagerly awaits return of ‘handsome’ Crystal Palace after injury dismissal
The 23-year-old has been out of action since suffering a serious injury late last season.
Eberechi Eze expects a “great experience” when he fully recovers from an Achilles injury and returns to action for Crystal Palace.
The Anglo-Nigerien suffered an injury during a training session in May that abruptly ended his first campaign, and he is not sure when he will play for Patrick Vieira this season.
His last competitive appearance came in a Premier League game against Aston Villa on May 16 when he provided an assist in their 3-2 win.
Eze has yet to perform in front of Crystal Palace fans since his definitive stint from QPR in August 2020, however, he is already dreaming of the vibe with the club’s loyalists whom he sees as another outing for the Eagles.
“It’s an exciting time to be a Palace fan, to be at Palace. I believe anything is possible. The players we have now and the way we played on the weekend [v Tottenham Hotspur] was proof that it works. If we take it game by game we could end up anywhere, ”Eze said. Premier League productions, through the club’s website.
“It’s a brilliant time for me; I’m just – again, I don’t want to rush, put pressure on myself – but the day I come back is going to be good for me. A great outing experience with the fans. I haven’t known all the fans before. It’s going to be like my debut again. Unbelievable.”
Crystal Palace has won just one of its five season opener, a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on September 11.
Despite losing 3-0 to Liverpool and Chelsea, Eze has revealed he appreciates the performance of his teammates as they sit 14th in the table with five points in five games.
“You sit on the side and the worst part is you think about positions that you would pick up the ball in and stuff like that,” he continued. So it is dangerous to go too far in this area because you start to rush and put pressure on yourself.
“For me, I just love watching the team right now because they are playing so well and doing exactly what I would have hoped for in this team. It’s great to watch this and seeing this I can’t wait to come back and join them.
