Coca-Cola FC gets historic promotion to Egyptian Premier League
Coca-Cola FC will accompany Pharco FC in the Egyptian Premier League after taking the lead in Group B after their historic victory against Tersana SC.
Their promotion came on the final matchday of the Egyptian Second Division League after beating hosts Tersana SC 1-0 with Mohamed Yosri scoring the winner after just seven minutes of play.
A win was all the team needed regardless of how their rivals performed, Coca-Cola started the final lap at the top of the table with 49 points, while El-Dakhleya was two points behind with 47 points, so a win over Tersana was more than enough for Coca-Cola to secure his promotion.
Like Pharco, this is Coca-Cola’s first promotion to the Egyptian Premier League since the team was formed in 2011. The team is under the supervision of head coach Tamer Mostafa.
Coca-Cola, who will become the 74th team to play in the Premier League, has several well-known names in their squad, including Emmanuel Odoi, Reda El-Weeshi and Mahmoud AbdelHakim.
In contrast, Al Zarka, Sers Lean, Nogoom FC and Tanta all suffered the fall in the Third Division.
After Groups B and C reach their conclusion, only Group A remains to reveal the third promoted team on their final matchday, the battle will be between El-Sharkia Dokhan (56 points), Al Minya FC (54 points) and Al Aluminum SC (54 points).
