Camilla’s birthday: How will the Duchess of Cornwall celebrate her 74th birthday? | Royal | New
The next birthday on the royal calendar is that of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who turns 74 on Saturday July 17. The Royal Family have a whole host of birthday traditions, so here’s how Camilla could spend her big day this year.
What are the traditions of royal birthdays?
Members of the Royal Family usually celebrate their birthdays privately at home with their families, so we don’t know exactly what Charles and Camilla have planned to celebrate the Duchess’s birthday.
But as a senior member of the Royal Family, we can expect a new portrait of Camilla to be released to mark her 74th birthday.
Last year, Clarence House published several portraits of the Duchess in the gardens of her London residence.

Camilla will also receive birthday cries from the Royal Family’s social media accounts.
Last year, the Instagram account of Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, shared an adorable snap of Prince Charles, Camilla, William and Kate smiling on a joint outing together.
The Royal Family’s social media account also shared a sweet photo of Camilla laughing with the Queen last year.
As a senior member of the Royal Family, Camilla is expected to complete several official engagements on behalf of the Crown each year.
For decades, the British monarch has often celebrated his public birthday in May or June, as there is a good chance the weather will be good around that time.
Trooping the Color is the Queen’s annual birthday parade and before the lockdown it always took place in London.
The Queen is always joined by other members of the Royal Family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, to watch the parade move between the palace, the shopping center and the Horseguards parade.
For the past two years, the event has taken place on a smaller scale at Windsor Castle due to coronavirus restrictions.
